Default Mass Effect 3 : Collector's Edition

Hey guys!
So apparently the biggest game of 2012 ( said by numerous gaming sites)
Mass Effect 3 is coming down in March 6 2012.

And here where i am
They're selling The Collector's Edition .
But only the pre-order ( Which is the only way to get collectors)

It costs $99 And it includes everything shown in this video and the actual game of course

Mass Effect 3 Collector's Edition Unboxing [HD] - YouTube

Yep, Thats all in the Collector's Edition set.
But wait
There's more

At my local gamestore those who pre-order the game collector's edition by friday will recieve a Free Model of the SR2 Ship worth $55

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.c.../normandy1.jpg

It looks somewhat like that?

So you'll actually be getting
Mass Effect 3 ( Collector's Edition ) + Ship Model = $99

Insted of
Mass Effect 3 (Normal ) = $76.90

I've never played a Mass Effect game before.
So what's your take on this?
Should i jump on the opportunity and get the collector's edition since its a good game?

Or should i just wait for reviews.

What console? I would strongly recommend playing through the first two games. If not for story, for shaping ME3 to the way that's unique to you.

I usually suggest people to get collector's editions if they're a fan of the series.

Also, Mass Effect 3 will be at its best if you play the two other games, since you migrate the save file between each game, bringing your own Commander Shepard and all of his/her events, which will shape both Mass Effect 2 and 3.

That's also why I'm not suggesting the PS3 version, since the PS3 never had Mass Effect 1. If I haven't played Mass Effect 1, I wouldn't have enjoyed the second that much.

Also, thanks for the Normandy ship model information! Is it really only in your local Gamestop?

Collectors editions aren't really my thing, but if you like mass effect a lot yeah go for it.

I would pre-order this in a heart beat if I wasn't refusing to buy any EA/Bioware products(new at least, jumping on ME3 used).

Objectively speaking and as a big fan of the Mass Effect series, this collector's edition is really nice and I think it's honestly worth it if you're a fan of the series. I'd buy it, and I had to fight the urge to consider it when I heard about it.

But if you've never played Mass Effect before, not only is this not worth it, you shouldn't play this game at all. Mass Effect is a a game series about choices you make. Playing the third one is a really, really stupid idea if you haven't played the first two. Heck, even on PS3 you can relive the major events of the first one in Mass Effect 2 thanks to a DLC comic.

So, in short, no, you shouldn't buy this, or Mass Effect 3 until you played the first two and are able to carry over your saved data to the third one. Anyone who plays ME3 without the first two is doing a disservice to not only themselves, but to the series as well, not to mention the people who made it.

If you like the special edition and have the money to spend on it then buy it. If you're not a fan and see the special edition like nothing big for you, then buy the normal.

Alright guys!
I got Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 Since it was real cheap at $24.99
And there's no ME 1 so im gonna have to live with it.
Although its not a really good choice...

I just pre-ordered the Collector's Edition
And it comes with a Normandy Ship SR2 model!

It costed a total of $99 dollars
But there was a BUNCH of cool stuff.

SO even if im not a big fan of the game
And its my first time playing.
I Guess i'll have some cool stuff of my own to keep ehehehe

Be sure to buy the Mass Effect DLC comic as apart of Mass Effect 2. Before you even start Mass Effect 2, it will allow you to make some of the more important decisions regarding the first Mass Effect. It's only $4, so do it.
