Final Fantasy 6's soundtrack is my favorite. The Mystic Forest / haunted train theme, Kefka's theme, Maria and Draco at the opera house theme, and then Dancing Mad. .. chiptune goodness

Having played hundreds of games, and being a big fan of game music as a whole, I have to say that Donkey Kong Country 2 has the best soundtrack in gaming in my opinion, beating out things I love a lot, like Ocarina's soundtrack, its just too good.
