Default Hello friends of the DS!

I'm not really very internet savvy, so, hmmmm.... Well, I am a long time fan of video games in general, dating back to the late 70s. My two (older) twin sisters were given a Sears Pong machine as a gift when I was a few years old, and that system was followed by an Atari 2600, (their reward for good grades and 'graduating' into middle school) and then a Vectrex. ( A 'family gift' for us from my father) During the 80s and into the 90s, along came these jewels...NES...Sega Master System...Genesis...SNES...etc etc and blah blah.
I have always been a handheld fan myself, having bought the original grayscale GameBoy at Babbage's for the full retail price of $129.99 when I was 15 years old. I had sort of put my gaming pleasures on the 'back burner' over the course of the past 15 years or so, until I met mr. (mrs.?) GameBoy SP one day. I fell head-over-heals for this system, and still have several to this day. (Dont get me wrong, I have enjoyed several console games extensively, namely the amazing Resident Evil 4 as well as my other go-to game, Riddle of the Sphinx, but I prefer handheld systems for what they represent.)
Last year I bought a pair of Nintendo DS Lite systems, one for my wife and one for myself. (Her pink, me black) My wife has a fairly busy career, but still is utterly ADDICTED to hers...she loves the game 'picross', and also cannot get enough of the DS version of Super Mario Bros. I myself have differing tastes, I'm very particular as to which games I play...I find that many are re-hashes or just flat-out boring to me.

Well, thats about enough of my 'life story', heh, is anyone still awake? Anyhow, I'm glad to be here, and hope to be able to both learn some things and get the low-down on whats what from DS fans around the world. This 'Nintendo 3DS' has us both enthralled. We have been keeping up with the news bits and all, this system looks to be another drool-worthy addition to the stellar Nintendo-brand handheld dynasty. We are counting the days until we get ours!

Be positive and have fun!

Hello and welcome to the forums. You get a cookie for the Goonies screen name, by the way.

Thanks everyone! As for my screen name, heh, I wasnt sure that anyone would 'get it' honestly, seeing as how The Goonies is a film from my generation.

Is this forum strictly for the 3DS/DS? (I just grabbed a Wii recently and have a few questions is why I ask..)

Take care
