Talking Hello, there! The Name's Graem...

Hello!

As the Title implies, my name is Graem. I'm Canadian, nineteen years old, and a hardcore PC gamer (or at least I WAS until college came around and I had to manage my time better ;D). I got that way when I was really young. Started on good ol' MS-DOS, so yes, I'm a classic PC gamer too. I get all misty-eyed around command line interfaces as a result. :P

Things you should know about me:
  • I'm a big fan of BioWare's "Mass Effect" series and Robert E. Howard's "Conan the Cimmerian."
  • I can be very verbose and use what others have told me are "big words." Fortunately, this is the internet and dictionaries are easy to access and free of charge in case I do that. :P
  • Nintendo systems owned: NES, N64, GameCube, Wii, Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Colour, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP, DS, DS Lite, and now the 3DS.
  • Audio is a passion of mine. Yes, all of it. Music, sound, effects -- you name it, I love it. I'm an Audiophile and now a freelance audio/sound engineer.
  • I disliked the DS and what it seemed to turn into -- like the Wii, a system for shovelware, minigames, etc.
  • I love the outdoors! Forests in particular.
  • I have a not-so-secret interest in "The Olde West." Historical American/Canadian stuff of that nature from the mid-late 19th century through the earlier 20th century. I got it from my father when I was a boy ;P. And yes, I LOOOOOOOOVED Red Dead Redemption!
  • For me, pirates are and will always be better than ninjas.
  • First party Nintendo game series I enjoy: Zelda, Animal Crossing (I'll admit it!), some Metroid (refuse to play Other M, though), and SOME Mario (I don't like the redundant ones. Galaxy, 64, and Super Mario World were my favourites, to give you a good idea).
  • I dislike almost all anime (I used to like Lupin the 3rd, but that's it.) so I would never even think of playing an anime game... except for Street Fighter IV, but that's different, isn't it? ;P
  • Most games I play are western-developed. High quality, high end North American/U.K./European titles. I ignore most Japanese titles.

I'd like to get to know the lot of you because I'm really enjoying the 3DS and I'm glad there's an active community about it. Care to share friend codes?

I have Super Street Fighter IV 3D at the moment... looking forward to the new version of Ocarina of Time (still my favourite Zelda game, and I've given it very strict criticism!), and the new version of Star Fox 64. I really hope this system gets Nintendo back to "real gaming," since the tech practically begs for it!

Much potential indeed.

Cheers!

- Graem
