Default Konnichiwa!

Hello all! I'm glad to see that I've stumbled upon an active, interesting forum for once. My username's Hatsune Miku, but calling me Miku for short would suffice. I've been a Vocaloid fan since 2004, and I love using it, along with the MikuMikuDance program, to create amazing songs and visuals! (Though, I've never published any out onto the Internet.) I'm an avid designer, whether it's graphics, websites, you name it! I love technology, which has basically become my lifestyle. I'm a gamer, but if I had to classify which type, I'd guess I was a casual gamer. I dislike games like Call of Duty, Halo, and such. (Not that I'm bashing them, I just could never get into them.) I'm more on the Nintendo-gaming side, basically, anything involving Mario and his pals usually tends to be something I'm interested in playing. But moreover, I'm huge into anime! (Sorta.) I've had a habit where I'm close-minded about the majority of anime, while focusing on a particular anime, (which often leads me into having awkward conversations with other people who talk about an anime that I haven't gotten into.) I also LOVE Japan! (So yes, I guess that makes me an Otaku, and a Weeaboo.) I am starting to learn the Japanese language, (like pronunciation, script-language, Romaji), so I can be better at learning Japanese in general! My future, long-life goal is to move to Japan someday, (I've already had my mind set about this), which many of my friends in real-life have frowned-upon. By that, I mean that they've also tried to convince me to NOT move there, but I really feel like I'm better off in Japan, honestly. I also plan on attending a foreign-exchange program to Japan, possibly, which could help influence my decision some more.

But yep! That's pretty much all there is for you to know about me! I'm super-friendly, so anyone can approach me for whatever reason. I'm always on the web, (I don't have a life, as they say), so you'll always be able to see me around. If I'm not on this forum, per se, you could always send me an IM to my MSN, etc.

If there's anything else you guys would like to know, always feel free to ask me. ^^

Howdy, howdy, howdy!

If you want to share some of your creative work, we have a section called "The Studio" devoted just to that. There are a lot of anime fans on here (including myself) so you should feel right at home

Enjoy your stay!

Hey, welcome! Funny you say you want to live in Japan, because I thought the same thing when I was younger, haha. I went there for a few weeks a couple years ago. Its a really fun place, but Tokyo is sooo crowded. I used to think when I was younger that I'd walk into Japan and their'd be gobs of anime goodies everywhere. Damn I was wrong, they pretty much keep that stuff locked up in the Akiba district. Its awesome if you love geeky stuff, but apart from that area I didn't see many anime related things around. Which threw me for a loop. o.o; And I was so excited to watch TV there... haha... I was prepared to sit down most of the day, thinking "oh boy I get to watch REAL anime!!" About twenty minuets later I've flipped through all the channels and couldn't find but maybe one anime. I did find multiple channels showing Battlestar Galactica though... they played that show... ALL DAY LONG. lol I was so in the twilight zone. Overall it was a good experience, but I've learned that Japan isn't anything like what most anime fans would think it is. Its very different, but in a good way. I really hope you can go experience it for yourself one day, so keep striving to reach your goals! =)

I have been there quite a few times since I was a child, most of my dads family lives in Nagasaki. I would highly recommend you not live there if you are not Japanese.

God. Words cannot express how much I hate the term "Weeaboo."

I've lived in Asia for over ten years. I'm white.

So some "azn" guy from L.A. wants tell me that I don't know/understand Asia. He can't speak any Asian language, only goes there on summer vacations from his American college to hit the nightclubs in Hondae/Roppongi/whatever, and wears a backwards baseball cap with the label still on it.

God, I hate the term Weeaboo. By the way, I have a good, stable job in Yokkaichi City, Mie-ken, Japan.

^ Lol, even though I've only been to Japan for a few weeks, I gotta agree with The Dude on this one. Even though I met some very nice younger Japanese people on my trip, I still felt VERY isolated from everybody else around me. The older Japanese people can give you very intimidating looks. =/ But hey, I understand. Would I like to visit again? Hell yeah. Would I live there? Hell no.
