Thnak you, yeah I got a 3ds at launch and attended a Midnight event for it and I have one quick question to save me looking through loads of different threads but do you know If you can transfer your ambassador status along with streetpass data, activity log etc to a new 3ds??

Yes you can, but only up to five times.

Does that mean, if i have a friend whose 3DS is under the ambassador program? Can he transfer the ambassador status to my non-ambassador 3DS?

Yes, but you'll have to format your Nintendo 3DS, and by transferring his data, you'll be formatting his as well.
