Default Professor of Biology Dshadow here!

I love to game.. and portable gaming is very conveniet for me.

I study entomology (bugs) and enjoy teaching students about the world around them. Ecology, behavior, organisms, that type of stuff.

Hope to have some fun experiences with everyone!

Nice to meet you, DShadow.

I can't help but ask: "What's your favorite (weird) bug or behavior?"

Probably the most favorite wierd bug, AND coolest behavior is that of the odonata (Dragonflies and Damselflies) larvae, or babies. They have a specific mouthpart that folds under their head. When they attack, it unfolds and shoots forward fast, and over a pretty good distance (a few lengths of the head forward). They are voracious predators of the smaller aquatic invertebrates.

The specific mouthpart is called the labium and sometimes its called labial mask. Google it and let me know if you find some awesome stuff!

Cool. Welcome to the forums professor.

EDIT: Calling you "professor" makes me feel like we're in one of those old cartoons and I'm like an adventurer and you make cool gadgets and inventions for me.

If you were a Pokemon character, I would bet that you would be a bug catcher.

Am I right?

@ baroque! Yeah I can see that totally! Here is a quote for you. "I've been working on some amazing things lately. Come back later when i'm finished to see what it is". That makes it sound like what you usually get from a "prof" in the old rpg games.

@hookahmaster. Honestly, i've never played a pokemon game. It would eat up too much of my time. But you are right, i'd be after the insect types, then probably the bird types.

As a gamer, i'm more of a completionist. So when i got sf43d, i want all the titles/icons/medals, etc. Pokemon would be too much for me.

I thought you were going somewhere else with that professor of biology thing. Oh well.

What are your thoughts on the rise and pending global domination of the Argentine Ant?

o/ yay for the bug man!

I'm an astrophysicist... sort of a rocket scientist, but personally prefer cosmology and planetary geology to space travel.
