due to this being a large issue(although i personally would hardly call it an issue) i thought i might make this thread to see what the users of this forum thought and to also give some clarification to some people that ont know much about it.

okay so from my understanding the origin of this prophecy is the the mayans (whos calendar is frankly completely stunning with its accuracy) ends on december 21st 2012. now people have linked this to a "world changing event" in various mythologys, now this could mean end of the world, but it could also mean a massive technological advancement, just something that will change the world forever.

now for the actual theorys, the most popular 3 are:
1. a meteorite will hit earth, now this is unlikely since we would be able to see a meteorite that could wipe out the planet.
2. nibiru is a theoretical planet that will go into our orbit and disrupt the rotation of the earth, maybe even stopping it completely, ow for this one it is mostly the same as above except by now we would be able to see it with the naked eye.
3. this is the most plausible, that when the sun reaches a solar maximum it will barage earth with massive solar flares, creating massive radiation and maybe even cancelling out earths magnetic field.

now i think its all absolute hogwash, but what do you guys think?
