Haha! I JUST read this article, then came over here to share, and you beat me to it.

They bring up some pretty interesting points, but I can see people not agreeing and making a stink about it, as it is with all things gaming.

*Sigh* Once again another post without almost any actual real facts or education in the gaming industry.

FACT: Gaming is cheaper or about the same than it was in the 80's, 90's and early 2000's.

If you look at inflation the NES would be a $400 console now a days. Game prices would be around $90 per game now a days.

The amazing thing about this is now a game may have 100 people working on it instead of 5 or 6.

"I've still logged more hours on it than Red Dead Redemption and Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 combined."

On Wii Sports? Yeah, I don't think so...

Liked the jokes about the WiiU though.

Here are a few trends I've been seeing:

-Co-op gaming wil only continue to grow. (Gamers are no longer shut ins, we like to play together.)
-Building games will become a huge genre in the next 5 years. (Thanks Minecraft!)
-Japan will keep becoming less of a force in gaming. (With the exception of maybe Nintendo and Sony.)

But more than four years later, nothing on the Wii has equaled it. The tech was perfect for bowling and that's all it was perfect for. OK, it's also nice for shooting gallery type games, but about the 10th time I was told to shake my controller to get a leech off my screen, I had a revelation: this is bull****.
It's funny because it's true.

its not cheaper

even 'adjusted' for inflation nes would be cheaper than the ps3 launch would it not? and it is nit as simple to adjust for inflation as youm ake it out to be

but keep it simple, silly

compare wii vs ps3 or 360 prices for consoles

compare the same with software

compare the same with the state of pay dlc

compare the same with additional game subscriptions from console maker and or software maker

you pay more and more for less and less in the same generation, and turn console gaming to pc gaming in the process, all for the honour of having marketing depts calling you hardcore

i guess it beats wrestling who call their best customers marks

3ds is signifigantly more expensive than ds as well

wiiu will likely be more than wii per game

thats a disturbing trend all right

my top 3 according to activity log

mkwii

wii sports

wii resort

that was a dumb and poorly out 'trend' however wii sports controlled awesome it is true, but wii has not dumbed downgaming with motion, kinect sadware be damned

the pointer alone has enhanced and created many great games from fps to mario galaxy ti ivy the kiwi

wii motion as well from wii resort to excitebots to red steel 2 to nsmbwii to kirby to wii play motion to skyward sword upcoming

and dozens and dozens of others....

most of the points their are poorly thought out, obviously the person on their burned out on fps and forgot other gaming is out there
