Just wondering has anyone received any notifications from people over the net when adding their friend codes on their nintendo 3ds through the internet options not local options.

You don't get any type of notifications, local or internet.

but how does someone know they've been added by someone else on the internet

They don't unless you let them know on the website where you got their friendcode from if you're adding someone you met online.

Well i added a friend codes over the internet setting and his added me but so far no notifications yet.
