| Up until now, people keep kicking and screaming and saying how they hate the economic, political, moral and spiritual decline in our beloved nation and yet they continue to vote for someone even if they hate that candidate they go on and still vote because they feel as if they just have to VOTE for something. If every single person in the country refused to vote at all in the next election, no primaries, nothing then just think of the change that could be wrought within these United States of America. That would strike hard at the life strings of the rich and the powerful. We must purvey the promulgation that the climate in which we now live is not a true democracy, it is rather a race between people who are exactly the same monied men with no true desire to represent their constituents; namely, we the people of America. While true it may be that there isn't actually anything wrong with voting for a person with whom we may disagree with in morals and dogmas the very act of voting for them to guide our country and represent us in congress simply because we deem it our duty to vote each year is fundamentally flawed for that act in and of itself contributes to the ambiance of a nation that is more of a democracy and republic in name only but not in true reality. We must either vote for what we believe in or not vote at all. If they (the candidate who is running for election) wants to take their bickering and own personal interest to our political system doing bills about abortion, alternate lifestyles, evolution, giving money to the rich big wigs while taxing the poor, and exterminating universal health care because they hate each other then government is no longer about serving the people and it becomes nothing more than a monkey court and bizarre circus of hell. It is then that it becomes about using the vote of the people to further their own aims rather than a herald of the American people. If the elected leaders no longer care about the people and the Constitution to which they have sworn and vowed to serve and protect then I do not see why we should vote for them. To abstain from voting under such corrupted political conditions is indeed patriotic and something in which all citizens of the nation can easily participate in unlike the Wall Street Occupation with which many can not venture to participate in due to their financial difficulties and distance of travel and further more not one humble soul will have leave behind their warm and peaceful hobbit holes. And this my friends is just one of the ways in which One Can Be The Change They Wish To See in The World. Not only recommend I this for my fellow Americans but to all those in any nation whose society is being stilted and railroaded by bad and corrupt political leadership. P.S. The tagline to this thread is a nod to one of my favorite music artist. I'm wondering if any of you can figure out who it is and the album to which I'm alluding to. |

HUH??? I prefer the "vote for people that don't suck" option rather than the "don't vote at all" option. Seems a lot more effective.

| I truly agree and I would vote anyone who doesn't 'suck'. I only wrote that because I saw so many people on twitter and such saying there is no one to vote for as there are very few good Democrats and honest Republicans running if any. I'm planning on voting for Obama once again or Herman Cain or Jon Huntsman.

I'm voting Obama because I don't want a tea partier as the president. If it was Romney, it would be okay I guess. He's pretty much the republican Obama.

| Romney a Republican Obama? What about Jon Huntsman? I think that Huntsman is more like Obama than is Romney. I have noticed that no one seems to give Huntsman much love, no, neither the media nor the American voters.

You do know that roughly half the nation already doesn't vote, right?
