| Beauty and the Beast? Heavy Metal? How to Train Your Dragon? Yellow Submarine? Grave of Fireflies? Iron Giant? Tangled? Coraline? Fantasia? Descendants? Nightmare Before Christmas? Toy Story? All Dogs Go to Heaven? Wall-E? Dragon Hunters? Secret of Kells? Little Nemo? Spirited Away? Plague Dogs? Red Line? Akira? Under the Red Hood? Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Why the hell aren't you posting in this thread? We're centralizing all of this under one topic, including western and Japanese animation. Discuss the classics, recommend niche/obscure stuff and speculate about upcoming blockbusters like Pixars Dinosaur Film and Wreck-It Ralph. Short films are cool too.

The latest animated film I've seen is The Illusionist: ![]() I like the art style but the film itself is definitely not for everyone. It has little to no dialogue and the story itself is very slow-paced. If you're a film or animation fan, I'd definitely recommend it.

I'll merge them as being dups and you can't stop me. Also, Kin, how would you rank The Illusionist compared to other films you seen? Like, did you love it the whole way through or did it not live up to expectations? It's been sitting on my "watch this eventually" list.

This airline is for fans of animated films. Quote:
It's definitely a "Slice of life" kind of film. The main focus of the movie is on the dynamic between the two main characters. I don't regret watching it but at the same time I don't feel like ever watching it again. It just sort of met my expectations.

Has anyone seen The Secret World of Arrietty yet? Looks interesting, and it's Ghibli. I hope to when it's out on DVD.

Not looking forward to the next Ghibli film, From Up on Poppy Hill, though.

| I saw it yesterday. I highly enjoyed it. The American voice actors weren't the best but they weren't horrible either. The animation was top notch as always, and the story is nothing new but it's done very well.
