I'm not sure if this is a duplicate, I searched and found nothing like this thread.

Anyhow, I'm sure many of you here have heard about the hacktivist group Anonymous. They are probably most known for successfully taking down PSN. (for a while) And much more. They claim they "come in peace".

It seems to me like they just want to stand up for what they think is right. I don't really agree with them 100%, but I respect what they're doing.

How do you feel about them? Do you think what they're doing is right? Or do you think they're just insane?

As much as people would like to think it, Anon isn't really a thing.

They're a bunch of armchair criminals with spotty faces and hormonal frustrations. They deserve to be locked up for a long time in a facility where they can be the girlfriend of a fat bald guy named Billy Bob.

No respect for criminals with a self-proclaimed Robin Hood complex.

Well, it's not exactly proven who did take PSN down. I doubt it was anonymous though really. They did hack PSN before it was shut down though.

They are all about security and privacy, so I kind of see the good in them. And since they are for security and privacy, it makes me doubt even more that they were the ones to actually take down PSN since they said that credit card numbers may have been taken.

No. The majority (pretty much all of them) of anonymous is just lonely home ridden teenagers, and average trolls, that hope they'll become famous if they can take down larger organizations. But anon took down PSN, eh? Considering most of the "members" hail from 4Chan, I honestly don't believe that one, not in the slightest. But hey, anonymity is a powerful thing.

...if only that actually mattered, because none of their raides have once done anything to actually benefit society.
