Default Apple Conference to directly compete with E3

Wow, Apple. Dick move, much?

The annual Apple Worldwide Developers Conference is scheduled for June 6 through June 10, directly clashing with this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, which runs from June 7 to June 9. It's not yet clear if this was a deliberate move by Apple, or a case of crappy planning. Either way, it's rather wankish behavior.
E3 is pretty much the Wrestlemania of videogame events, with most of the biggest announcements and hottest games unraveling. The AWWDC is usually held a week after the event, and the sudden change has fueled rumors that Apple is deliberately gunning for the game industry.
At GDC this year, Apple was accused of timing its iPad 2 announcement to overshadow Satoru Iwata's keynote speech. The tablet was also released on the same day as the 3DS in Europe, although some believe that was to beat rival tablets as opposed to Nintendo itself.
It all looks mighty fishy, though.

Nah. It doesn't look like a big deal to me. People who usually pay attention to E3 will watch E3 and people who do Apple will do Apple. The people attending is another issue, though.

WWDC tickets sold out in under 12 hours just in case anyone was wondering so I doubt there were many people feeling all upset about whether to attend E3 or WWDC.

I don't see how smart phone gaming can compete with actual consoles. You have a touch screen that emulates the physical controls needed to play a game! Pressing a nonexistant "A" button is akward, and also most of the time doesn't work.

Its planned, just as they did with the ipad2 reveal and iwata speach note. They even hired a building next to it + putted apple stuff all around it.

Apple has no use in the E3 at all, they dont got any share in it. The best thing if they wanna break down the e3 or fight against it = doing stuff with this. But the same thing will happen as with the earlier thing.

Reviewers will just send extra crew towards instead of skipping the e3 or apple event.

doesn't need to compete, it can co exists. unless your market exists out of casuals. then you got a problem.

The Apple Conference is the same thing every year, Steve Jobs, black shirt, blue jeans, same styled presentation. Who cares if Apple is having a conference? They're barely anything compared to e3.
