IMO, Pokemon and Mario and Luigi RPG series.

Final Fantasy Tactics. Of course its a Strategy RPG and not a traditional one.

1. planescape: torment
2. TES: Arena
3. baldurs gate 1&2
4. Icewind dale (yeah I know it wasnt that great but I loved it)
5. fallout 1&2 followed distantly by the new ones
6. Mass effect series
7. Diablo series, more a hack n slash but I put way to much time into leveling and gearing my characters
8. Morrowind
9. Final Fantasy 6, the GOOD final fantasy
10. nethack, a mud that was way too immersive

Added after 3 minutes:

11. Forgot about kotor, except for the taris level was one of the better RPGs this last decade
12. AND the Mother series I am dumb.
