| My book would be Scar Tissue by Larry Sloman and Anthony Kiedis. Anthony Kiedis is the lead singer of the worldwide famous band Red Hot Chili Peppers. In this book, I goes through Anthony's life from when he was born, to when he was smoking marijuana at 11, and losing his virginity the same night. Then to his teens meeting his future bandmates. I am a die hard Red Hot Chili Peppers fan and I finished this book in 2 days. I gave this book to friends who weren't fans and they were hooked. I don't want to spoil the best parts. That's for you to read and find out. I very very very highly recommend this book! |

The Maze Runner is really good if you enjoy dystopian books. My college had a sale and this was one of the books they offered. I haven't gotten around to reading #2 yet, but I hear it's really good.

| The House of Leaves¹ is a good read if you enjoy post-modern mind screws. Though it is heavy reading, it tries to function at a meta level with several layers of story vs reality operating at once while the very book itself distorts as you read it. Still basically it is about a house that is one quarter of an inch large on the inside than the outside. The works of H.P. Lovecraft, there are various collected editions about since most of them are short stories. I particularly suggest finding one that contains The Dunwich Horror, At the Mountains of Madness, Shadow Over Innsmouth, and of course The Call of Cthulhu. If on a Winter's Night a Traveler, an Italian novel, though you can find it translated into English easily enough, about you. You are the main character. You the reader, the story is about you. Enjoy. ___ ¹Beware the Minotaur |

| The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao is a great book. It's about this Dominican named Oscar and his journey to lose his virginity. Anyone who's a fan of LOTR, Dungeons and Dragon, anime, etc can pick up on some hidden meanings. The Things They Carried. It's insanely good. It's a collection of related stories by Tim O'Brien, about a platoon of American soldiers in the Vietnam War |

Seriously though, I've read a lot books but probably one of my favorites would have to be... The House of the Scorpion A science-fiction novel. The main character is the clone of a powerful drug lord. I read it back in middle school but it's one of those books that has appeal outside it's targeted demographic. |

Firestarter by Stephen King. A whole lot better than the movie. ![]() Its about a father and his daughter running from the government because his daughter has special powers. I recommend it to everybody. Last edited by Slaphappy1996; 07-31-2011 at 05:14 PM. |
