| -Should I get it repaired by Nintendo? I don't want it costing too much. $40 preferrably, so this might not be the best option. - I know you can be replacement shells online, but I'm horrible with electronics and I'll probably end up making things worse. - There are people on Craigslist who could repair it, but frankly, it's hard to trust that I'll ever get it back. Some other ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! |

I think you should ether buy a new one or send it to nintendo! Added after 3 minutes: Have you put the ds's code on club Nintendo? I put my 3ds's code on and got a 90 day worrinty! Last edited by Beldomsey; 05-02-2011 at 10:46 PM. |

This happened to my friend before. I would just leave it be. Play your DS Lite as normal but just be careful and hold the screen up at all times. Irrelevant story about my friend: My friend's had broken so that the top screen wouldn't turn on or work at all unless you kept it at a certain angle. He had to play his Lite like that for about two years before it totally broke and lol, instead of buying a 3DS he bought a new DS Lite. He could've gotten the 3DS, he had enough money, and he wanted to get it but he wanted to be able to migrate Pokemon with the GBA slot. Which is understandable as I bought my second DS Lite (my first one broke..) over the DSi which was out at the time for that reason. I bought my replacement DS Lite (the black and blue one) the day Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver came out and got both games.

| But I don't really have the option of buying a new one.. It's not my money that's being used. It's my parents. And at my GameStop, the DS lite still costs the same amount it did when I bought it 3 years ago. |

Option 1: Duct tape! Just kidding!Option 2: Why don't you order the part that you need to fix it & then, do this: YouTube - How to repair a Nintendo DS Lite NDSL Hinge 1 If you're afraid that you're going to mess up, ask your parents to do it. If they mess up, they'll owe you a new one! Option 3: Pay someone to fix it. If you take this route, try ordering the part yourself, because if you ask someone else to do it, they'll overcharge you. Hmm. Option 3 sounds good. Do you know of any trustable sites or people that'll do it for a good price? (: |

Simple, just send it in; that is, unless you don't want to go for about 1 - 2 weeks with out your DS. I'm going to be doing just that with mine.

| Yeah, but my warranty is expired and I heard it can cost from $70 to $80 without it. :S |
