| The microphone built in to my laptop is fine for video games and stuff, but when I'm looking to record something it's just not good enough. Does anybody know of something that records pretty good quality without having an absurd price? |

If you want decent quality for a reasonable price, you can get a fairly good USB microphone for about 100$ or so. If you want to use something a bit fancier, you'll have to have a really good sound card on your pc and possibly a mixing console. Personally, my USB microphone suits me fine. I'm not looking for professionnal studio-like quality, but the sound is pretty good. This is the microphone I have |

Yeah, get an USB condenser mic and you will get decent quality. There are cheap ones nowadays.

I was looking for under $100... I am a poor college student. I don't know if there is one for that cheap but.... I'll look.

He never said he wanted to record an album or do professional reviews or something.. he just needs to record. what's with the such high prices? I had a microphone worth less than 10 dollars once and the quality was amazing. Way better than my laptops built in mic.
