ok so we all have heard the numerous rumors regarding nintendo's new console. from what im hearing and putting things together nintendo is looking to sway hardcore gaming fans. there has been he say she say about whether the new console will be on par or significantly more powerful than 360 & PS3. From what I'm hearing it's going to surprise a lot of people. it will be a FULL generational leap in terms of processing power/graphics. Nintendo isn't happy with how hardcore gaming fan and developers see them as right now. when the next gen is mentioned no one even mentions nintendo they say PS4 and Xbox 720. ok so Rockstar the makers of grand theft auto might be in on this all. What if next year grand theft auto V launches with the Wii 2... and it is the definitive version. like what you see on the Wii 2 version vs 360 and PS3 is like seeing dead space 2 verses dead space extraction for the Wii. can all these things put together sway you as a hardcore gamer to buy nintendo's new system?

p.s. i actually know someone that works inside nintendo.... he isn't a BOSS but he has seen a very brief clip of a game running on Wii 2... he told me that it blows everything this gen away easily. i cant wait for next gen... not just Wii but to see what the others(Microsoft and Sony) bring to the table.

everytime there's a new generation revealed i think "this is it! this is the best we can do, and it's so amazing. nothing can get better than this!" and then of course, as the generation runs it's course i start to think "man, this seems a bit dull. wonder what next generation is going to look like" and then the next generation comes and i'm amazed all over again. i often wonder how big of an explosion my head would make were I to travel back to pre-SNES days and show my younger self the 3DS or PS3, lol.

But yeah, Nintendo definitely has what it takes to sway the hardcore, they just have to be serious about doing it. Seems to me there are a select few things that hardcore audience cares about (in no particular order): mature games, graphics, a good controller, online multiplayer. If you get those things right, you're in like sin, and all the rest will fall into place on its own.

If they launch with Grand Theft Auto 5, Conduit 3 and Monster Hunter 4 along with graphics that blow the PS3 and Xbox 360 out of the water then absolutely.

not sure but the one game that will be a launch title from nintendo is going to blow your mind. you will get it

The hardcore also play Nintendo. Anti-Nintendo personnel like to use that term to designate them over those who don't like their stuff.

The real question is: can people stop and think for a moment, how does not owning a Nintendo make you hardcore?

i used the term hardcore loosely. but what im meaning is the gamer that wants the best tech, online multiplayer, the works. and their are gamers and developers that fit this profile. nintendo is going to make a console that is a developers dream from what im hearing... their next console is going to be a third party powerhouse.

I think the only reason ps3/360 gamers don't like the Conduit is because of the bad graphics. But if Conduit 3 had better graphics than Killzone 3 and Crysis 2 then I think they'd care. And yeah I know MH4 and C3 wouldn't be out for launch but that would be part of my dream launch.
