PSN Outage Costs Capcom Lots of Money - PS3 News at IGN

Capcom's Corporate Officer/Senior Vice-President Christian Svensson was recently asked what he thought about the PSN outage on Capcom's Unity Blog. Unsurprisingly, he's disgruntled, stating that this outage has cost Capcom "hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars in revenue that were planned for within our budget. These are funds we rely on to bring new games to market for our fans."

He goes on to elaborate that while hackers have ultimately been successful in punishing Sony for "some perceived injustice," they've made it impossible to sympathize with them when they're "also punishing millions of other consumers and businesses."

Yikes, I didn't expect Capcom to say that...but anyways, that's a lot of funds to be losing. I wouldn't have thought they'd lose that much money. Shows what I know.

see? thats why they need to release layton vs wright on america and europe, so they recover that money.

Hopefully this will make them want to make Monster Hunter for 3DS.

Unfortunately, it's probably going to make them more likely to put out a quick "cash-grab" game.

Damnit, the one game developer company I like as much as nintendo, and sony had to lose them thousands/millions of dollars, now I am really annoyed!

Yes, losing millions on alternative costumes in SFIV and MvC3. Yes, poor Capcom. As much as I love Capcom their downloadable efforts need a serious upshot in quality

Yes that is funny- Capcom has less opportunity to screw people - but then - people screw themselves, don't they?

Well sony certainly has some work to do on many fronts in the aftermath of this.
