Default Classic TV Thread

The arrival of Netflix has had me recently going back through childhood shows from episode one. For example, today i watched Hey Arnold and Rugrats. For some reason, Rugrats was funnier due to the extra years of life and understanding. I also noticed that the sky was always purple.
Second, i watched a few episodes of Hey Arnold. I noticed that none of the kids's parents really cared about them. In one of the first episodes, Arnold and Gerald skip a play, accept dirty money, and hit a pool hall. And lets not even get into Arnold's depression bouts. When he got sad, HE GOT SAD.
So this thread was made from nostalgia, for us all to remember the times.

ahaha i know what you mean.. that's how i get when i watch the first season of pokemon or rugrats. Oh and the first season of power rangers too. Heck.. Disney movies too. When you're five years old you take a lot of stuff for granted. You just accept it because you don't know better. Now that i'm 20 and watching these shows/movies i realize how funny and messed up some of them truly are.

Yeah, theres nothing like the old tv shows. Ever since Drake and Josh went off and that Zack and Cody bullsh!t came on, kiddie tv has been straight dumb. We used to have to listen and have knowledge to get the bulk of our jokes. Now they try to crack a crappy pun every two seconds.

There are times that that's a good thing.

The 'A Team' springs to mind--I enjoyed it as a kid, but it's too painful for me to watch now.

when you said classic shows I though you meant "I love Lucy" and the Honeymooners. you actually mean 90's Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon, you just made me feel super old.
