Default cleaning cartridge games

i recently bought an NES to go with a box of games i bought i while back, but after i tried to play them, i realized they're incredibly filthy, to the point it looks like someone sqweesed a bottle of glitter glue and pepper all over the chip, i dont want to open up the game, so whats the best way to clean it, judged not from other sites, but past experiences, because ive looked at all the sites and they all say the same thing.

its a front loader so it does that resety thing so any tips on that would be cool too

Rubbing Alcohol is your friend. I only use that on all my cartridge games, and it works great. However, let the rubbing alcohol dry before you play the game...wouldn't want something unsavory to happen. :[

Qtips and rubbing alcohol. That's pretty much THE answer right there.

I use Greenworks and Mom's Q-Tips.
Until my cat vomited on the Little Nemo cartridge.
Then I used Greenworks and Q-Tips.

No, bad idea. You don't want to use something with all kinds of cleaning agents and detergents in it. Just good old fashioned rubbing alcohol will do the trick and is the safest thing to use.
