anybody else besides me has been lurking around the site reading tons of threads, but barely even posting after they got their 3DS?

The official term is "lurking."

haha i lurked around this site for two weeks before i actually joined. But even today.. especially after i got my 3DS i've been lurking. Lol sometimes i just don't have anything interesting to add to a thread.

I lurk in nearly every forum I read before I start to post (assuming I ever do). For that matter, I tend to lurk in real-life groups, too, until I get comfortable with the people.

Think of it as being like an anthropologist, and studying the unique features of the culture. Or maybe you're just being smart and deciding whether you like the conversation style before you join in.

Ohhh, the humanity! *fake shudder*

I lurk... mostly because I feel like what I'd have to say on the issue would not intelligently add to the thread topic. >.<

I lurk not enough threads that i can give a meaningful response to lately.
