Well I have the solution!

It is indeed possible to get ambassador status on any 3DS with a few workarounds. I have even managed to get it on my Zelda unit (after 2 months of waiting for the repair).

If anybody wants proof, then I will be sure to upload proof.

As for the method itself, I am reluctant to post it here until interest and/or permission is given.

What is everyone's views on getting ambassador games you don;t deserve? But who doesn't care because they want them anyway?

No, I have an ambassador one, so I don't care.
