Does "official" make a thread popular?

I was looking around the forums just a couple of seconds ago and realized that almost all threads with the word "official" in them have the most replies and views than threads that don't have that word, does the word "official" actually make a thread more desirable than one that doesn't have that word in it? Has anyone else noticed this, and what do you think? I think the word "official" makes a thread look more important, therefore, people want to check it out just to see if it is actually looks good and professional in nature.

An official thread has (or should have) all current info about the game, videos, reviews, etc. A thread that's not official is just a discussion of the game, usually when there isn't a lot of news on it.

It makes sense since its "Official" then probably all members would visit the thread and have most of their discussions in there. Knowing that their queries would be answered thru that thread. Thus making it more popular and having more views.

If you are planning to make an "Official" thread just make sure that it has most of the information regarding the topic. Like what Scizor said, all current info must be on that thread.
