Default Don't ask don't tell ends

As of today homosexual and bisexual humans can openly serve in the U.S. military

This is another step forward towards equality

I never understood why that law was enacted in the first place. Just homophobia I guess. Anywho, this is certainly great news.

I'll be satisfied when we're allowed to marry in the majority of the states. But I guess it's good news.

I agree with TheGaymer and Baroque- this is great news.

I hope that gay marriage is eventually allowed in all US states though.

I know this wasn't the norm for all the Army but while I was active 98-02, we had several openly gay soldiers (both men and women) and no one really cared. It was only the media that made it seem like it was an issue for straight soldiers.

^ I agree in full. Recently, my home state of NY came around and dropped their barbaric statutes regarding partnership. In my opinion, its very foolish and damaging for ANY culture or civilization to try and dictate what goes on between ADULTS...idiotic if you ask me...

You mean they couldn't serve before?
That's....stupid and racist. Or homophobic.

Whats "weird" about it? You say that as if you have never seen a homosexual couple....heh....to me, THATS the weird part!

Doesnt seem weird to me, not a bit, but I CAN see how it would seem 'foreign' to those not accustomed to seeing it. (Certain parts of the world, rural parts of the US, etc..)

Cheers,

Swampy
