No, it's clearly not being worked on, because Sega isn't relevant anymore. All they have that people give a damn about nowadays is Sonic, and that's not enough to sustain a platform. Besides, this generation has been all about brand recognition, and Sega doesn't have that anymore. EDIT: this isn't so much on if it's being made, as much as if it should be made, and if Sega was smart, whether or not it's being made.

Sega did get patents for new video game system designs, but I doubt we'll see a new Sega console any time soon.

If Sega is making a console, then why aren't significantly larger developers doing it too?

| People tend to stick to brands they recognize in what they're buying. If Sears(An example) were to release a console, I'd doubt it'd get much support because of Sony's, Microsoft's and Nintendo's domination of today's market. Maybe if another company were to offer something that the others didn't, then maybe they'd be successful.

As much as id hate to acknowledge it, Sega couldnt drop a new system as of right now due to how few people would care. They could go foward in time, steal the PS5 blueprints, slap Sega on that b!tch, sell it, and still get beat by everyone. The oversaturation of bad Sonic games has left Sega's other big games in its mediocre shadow. However, if they can clean up Sonic's rep ,starting with Generations and foward, and make great new games like another Jet Set Radio or Super Monkey Ball or a rebooted Alex Kidd, they would be in the race again.

I mean wouldn't Blizzard, Capcom, Activision, EA or another large company have a better chance of success?
