Default Finally making use of my Screen Printing hardware!

The first transparencies for my dive into screen printing is for my website that's been around for 10 years this year! In the humor of the site, I re-imaged the first post ever. For a website about nothing, it covers the feeling pretty well. :P

I've had this hardware since February and haven't opened it aside from inventory.

After this...I've no idea what else to start screening. Anyone have any ideas?

Screen printing on apparel. Shirts, etc. Used to be called Silk Screening because the actual screens were made out of silk, now they're made out of another, more durable polyester I believe. So it was just dropped to Screen Printing.

You print the design onto transparencies in reverse. Then you coat the screen in an emulsion and let it dry, then put the design on it and expose it to UV for some time. Then you wash it out, which exposes your design. You attach the screen into the screen arm, and goop up some ink. Pull it down over top of a shirt, swipe the ink which transfers the design to the shirt. Cure the shirt with heat. Done.

The first design is just my website. Ten years of ranting, raving, complete and utter random bull****. Anything I find funny or wanna gripe about. I do it to entertain me and others seem to find it funny as well, so win/win?

My wife and I ordered the hardware and stuff just because. No real aim in mind other than "Wouldn't it be cool if...". So we just went with it. The shirt for the Axalon came well after we got the gear as well. So I guess pretty much it's just a hobby that is finally coming into fruition. It'll be good for my band and such, but other than that...pretty much just the "Wouldn't it be cool if..."

So...ideas?

I got a couple of designs in mind, would you like to make a few bucks?

No matter how much you pay me, I will not make t-shirts where Link has genitals on his forehead.

It's too difficult to get the proportions correct...

Is it fiscally sound to be able to make like one shirt at a time? Instead of pressing a lot?

I was just wondering how much it costs you per shirt, to make the screen and then press the shirt. Price without the shirt...

It is possible to make one at a time, but it takes time and chemicals to make the screens, plus ink.

Depending on the design and size, that will effect it. I could burn a smaller design on a screen for a different shirt and just tape it off and it wouldn't be a big deal. There are other ways I'm sure, I've got a friend that does this too, so I'm constantly learning.
