Default Harvest Moon?

Hey guys.

I bought a 3DS last week, with PES 2011.

I also picked up Pokemon White.

I never owned a normal DS, so I've been looking at some older games to fill the time, while waiting for new 3D releases.

Was looking at Harvest Moon, and saw a couple of different ones. Which one is the best? Are they worth picking up?

I think I'll be getting New Super Mario Bros soon.

Is there any pther great normal DS games that I'm missing out on?

Thanks.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks.
If you have to choose between one of those, choose Spirit Tracks.

Thanks, I'll check them out. Never played a Zelda game before.

Though, I was waiting for the 3D one that was due out.

I am also a fans of Harvest Moon (HM) Series. I can recommend some of them to you. "Harvest Moon DS" is a good one to start off, it came out as the first Harvest Moon DS game and it is quite interesting to play.

If you like bazaar or selling your stuff in bazaar, then you should try "Harvest Moon ~ Grand Bazaar". The unique ways of selling the stuff is what I like from this game.

Recommended series:
Rune Factory Series is a spin off of Harvest Moon game. There are 3 Rune Factory for Nintendo DS. You should try to play Rune Factory 1, 2 and 3. It's slightly different from a normal Harvest Moon game but still you can do stuff like those activities in the Harvest Moon series. It has been well received by gamers, and I personally like this series too ^^

Other Harvest Moon games in DS Version:
There are few more Harvest Moon that you might try such as "HM Island of Happiness", "HM Sunshine Island", and "HM DS Cute". But the 3 HM that I had mentioned is not well received, so I would suggest you not to try it. HM DS Cute is actually a good one but I was referring to the American version not the Japanese version.

Other games:
Professor Layton Series is a great game, you should try this one if you never play it.

Thanks alot guys! Appreciate the replies

Went hunting today for the games, all I could find was Harvest Moon: DS. Was about to buy it, but I heard that it had quite a few glitches? Which kinda put me off.

I sort of regretted not buying it after I got home.

Could someone tell me if the 'glitches' are that bad? As I would deffo go pick it up tomorrow, as it was pretty cheap, but it's preowned. But I'm not bothered, as I can't find it anywhere online in the UK.

I saw Rune Factory 1, too. But I read that had 'monsters' in? Which isn't really what I was after in a Harvest Moon game, lol.

For the glitches, you can check this site:

Helpful Glitches - Harvest Moon DS Forums

AND

Harvest Moon DS Glitches (DS) - Softpedia

Some people said that they lost their save diary and have to restart the game, but I am not sure how reliable it is.

About Rune Factory
Rune Factory 1,2, and 3 are similar to Harvest Moon. You can grow crops, upgradeable farm equipment, marry the girl you like, interact with villagers, and instead of purchasing animals, you have to befriend with monsters and they will be the one that help you. It's also an action games where you can level up your character by killing monsters (There are 4 dungeons).

NEWS: Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns for the DS and 3DS is coming later this year.

By the way, if you wanted to find cheaper UK/PAL Version of Harvest Moon DS, go to ebay. You might get the chance to buy it less than £10. I bought one at the cost of £1.04 + £4.00 shipping cost to Sydney. If you're in UK then you might get it at cheaper price.

Wasn't there a female version of Harvest Moon for DS that fixed all the bugs? Or was that Japan only?
