This is purely based on how peope personally pronounce it. Sure, Yoshi says his name in every game, but some people pronounce Yoshi in different ways for different reasons. I've seen people who have spoken publicly about Yoshi and - to some people - pronounce it differently from others.

So do you pronounce "Yoshi" as "Yo-shee" or "Yosh-ee"? Or maybe even differently?
I go for the former.

Yo-shee. I find Yosh-ee sounds weird.

Yo-shee of course.

Since french is my first language, I always tend to pronounce it "yosh-ee" since it's a more natural sound in french.

But I always pronounce it "yo-shee" whenever I speak English since it's the way it's supposed to be pronounced anyway (and it's how it's pronounced in Japanese too)
