Sony has announced that the PSV will launch for $250 to rival the 3DS, as many of you are well aware. But how much loss is enough before Sony stops trying so hard? A major loss has already been predicted for each PSV sold, and Sony has admitted to this not planning on the actual handheld to profit for at least three years of it's life. I understand Sony is a multimedia company, but wouldn't you get pissed if all your product did was lose money?

On the other hand, most people believe this is a fair and holy price (for the Vita) and could care less if Sony profits from it while Nintendo makes over 80USD for each 3DS sold while people complain about it being too pricey even though it's the same price as the PSV (with WiFi not 3G).

We will have to wait for it, anyway that's good for us, costumers, the cheaper the better (let's see if the quality of the product now.......)

Sony prices their products reasonably, Nintendo jacks up their prices because they're money hungry.

I wouldn't say that. Remember, at first Sony believed the PS3 was WORTH 600USD if not more, but that hardly did well. Nintendo thinks about what their fans want and what would be logical to pay without hindering their own profits. Remember how everyone expected the 3DS to be 300-350USD. Nintendo almost exactly stated "We don't believe in that. It will only cost you 250USD," but then all people did was complain. Besides, Nintendo relies on their hardware and software sales. They can't throw away three years worth of profits and fall back on Television/Radio/DVD player sales.

Sony is not a gaming company they can do that cause if PlayStation brand fails and they stop making games,there still will be Sony.
Nintendo however,is a gaming company and if their products fail theyll DIE.
That's why they have to make money with every 3DS sold.

Remenber that before the Wii, everyone sold their consoles at a loss, so losing money isn't something for Sony or Microsoft or Nintendo.

At gamecube times, just before DS got announced Nintendo started to die slowly,when they announce DS,it printed money.

Nintendo wouldn't completely die, but they could easily become the next Sega -- a software only company producing for platforms other than their own.
