Default How often do you buy games and how you fund it?

Games are expensive but I know alot of people that get every biggish release of game(That is atleast a 7 in quality).

Some people have all systems and get 1 game each atleast a month

360 60
PS3 60
Wii 50
DS 30
3DS 40
PSP 40

Do you guys have money tree?Steal? trade? Buy games instead of food?

I have a job and often come up with disposable income, on the weekends I join my friends to the comic book shop and vintage video game stores, after class in Tuesday or Thursday I go to good will and check out the games. When I can't spend in games I set about 30 bucks towards my NeoGeo fund.

Great plan! Have you ever tried a renting place? I wonder if those are worth it because after a while, a single player game is unplayable because they don't save the levels that you can jump back too lik ethe old days. Like Batman Arkham Asylum, once you beat that, you can go back to old levels or acts.

I use redbox quite a bit, I find that it is great for modern games since campaigns are about 6 hours(beat black open, new Vegas, vanquish and others like this ), I only buy new games on release when I

A: wanna support the publisher
B: I know it will be hard to fund later (eg : atlus games)

If you can rent a new game definately do that instead, it'll save you a ton of cash

Added after 9 minutes:

I almost forgot.

If you have 2 gamestops nearby you can use them to rent older games!

They have a used game return policy where you can return used games for a full refund if you return them within 7 days.

So go to gamestop1 buy game x and after 6 days return it to gamestop2 for game y or your money back.

Make sure you deal in cash or they'll ban you from returning stuff.

I do some graphic design work to get games. That's how I paid for the 3DS. I tend to buy all my games used from eBay, though to save as much $$$ as I can. The only time I get them new is if they come with an artbook or something, or there's a pre-order bonus. Another thing is that I only buy games once I beat ALL of my current ones.

So, red box or gamefly? and can you rent consoles, I remember that block buster used to let you rent consoles lol. If so, this would be great, i could rent a console to play certain games without actually buying it.

Work, that's how I fund my games or wait a couple of weeks once the price goes down.
OP
You should change your name to thread starter, no offense but you start a lot of threads.

I buy a game every 2/3 months, only worth and totally new games.
For example, it's June and OoT 3D comes out, that's when I buy a game. Yes, if I don't buy it 3 days after release date I forget about it xDD
