Well you could go to a doctor and get medication. Though if you want an alternative I would suggest meditation. Meditation or at least certain kinds of meditation, are all about focus. Sitting still for say ten minutes and focusing on one thing, and just one thing. A candle flame, some religious iconography if you're into that sort of thing, or simply your breathing. It is harder than it sounds to clear your mind or other thoughts and focus on that one thing for even just ten minutes. All of your attention, no distractions, no stray thoughts. It may be hard for you, but this is a skill, it is something that requires practice and given some time that ability to focus will play into other aspects of your life, you will have trained yourself to be able to focus on school work, or anything you desire. Meditation isn't necessarily spiritual, or religious, it is just a tool for training your mind. Pick up a book like "Meditation for Dummies" to get started. |

Just think about your future and set a really high, but realistic goal for yourself (like start thinking about colleges NOW so it won't be as stressful when you actually have to do it). I went from failing in my first two years of high school to high 90's, and eventually graduated with high honours... all because I just wanted to do good. I know it's a long road, but trust me when I say that high school is REALLY easy if you just buckle down and try! (meditating helps too... I do it every night.) |
