Is anybody else on the forum like this? The avatars just stand out more. Of course, if anybody changes their avatar, it confuses my =P.

yes when u see a new user at first ur mind links him/her with their picture but over time you will realize them by their names ;]

It depends.
If the forum is fairly large, I'll usually associate people by their avatars or signatures.
If it's a small community, I'll go on a username basis with them, since you bond more when it's only 10 or 15 people posting.

I do this most of the time. I have hard time remembering names in a normal setting. Usernames on a big forum? Forget about it.

When I clicked on this thread, I was thinking, "I bet someone will mention me and my avatars."

Most of the time I take notice of usernames before the avatars, but it does get a little confusing when someone who rarely changes their avatar changes theirs. It's because you're so used to seeing the same image there all the time.

I can do both... just depends on the mood I'm in

I don't bother remembering users unless I need to.

Most of time, I'll remember you if we actually converse a lo, or if you just stand out.
