Default I don't watch sports

Every time I explain that to someone, they look at me like I have a second head. I'm I really the only one? And, are sport fanatics that dress up in they're favorite jersey pretty much the same thing as a comic-con geek in cosplay?

Yes, and Fantasy Football is D&D for Jocks.

Thing is, not liking 'sports' is a really broad range there. There are hundreds if not thousands of different sports. You don't like any athletic competition at all?

I mean baseball bores me, and I can't get into basketball, but I like watching American Football and MMA.

Idolizing an athlete is a little different that obsessing over a fictional character... I love sports. My favourites are hockey, football, and golf.

Yeah, you're right, it is pretty broad. So, don't get me wrong, I don't hate sports ... I just don't care about watching sports. I like playing pool, chess, and maybe some air hockey. But, I don't watch any of the competitive sports that everyone talks about, Basketball, Baseball, Football, and Soccer (or Football for the international folks). And, I really don't know the rules or anything about them.

It's not rare; it just means you're a nerd.

As for whether or not throwing on your favorite jersey is just as nerdy, that's personal opinion. I personally think it's less nerdy since it's meant to be a show of support for a real person doing real things. It's still kind of weird though.

You're not missing much there. Basketball, baseball, and soccer are about as entertaining as watching paint dry. Football on the other hand is very entertaining once you get into it.

Sports and games have their fanatics, and if you look past the stereotypes of jocks vs. nerds, they're actually pretty similar in how they approach things. Dress up in costumes/paint your body, go to convention/go to game.

I like to watch soccer anytime, but I can only watch baseball live without wanting to jump off a bridge.

I rarely watch sports, i may from time to time if someone else already is but if i have the choice between games and watching sports i'm definitely going to choose games. I don't see any problem with not being interested in sports, people have different interests that's something i thought most people would know but apparently the people you know can't understand that you aren't interested in the same thing as them.

I don't watch many sports, but I love to play sport.

Whenever I do get around to watching some sport, I love it though. (Only if its footy, car racing or soccer though, anything else is pretty boring)

No, I agree. I also hate Sports and I find them boring. It's always funny to me when the whole family used to sit on the sofa watching games while I remained in my room. Could never get into it. As for playing Sports, I'm too lazy.
