Angry I'm in need of some serious computer help.

This is driving me crazy with curiosity.I upgraded from vista a while ago and everything was good till now.And now this week all the sudden it takes ridiculously long for it to go to the log in screen.I timed how long it takes to get from the "Starting Windows" screen to the log in.

So obviously something isn't right.I seriously have no clue on what this could be and so any help will be appreciated.

You have a virus or need to seriously clear up space.

Often when I try and boot in safemode, the desktop just simply reboots itself.Happens sometimes though.

Sounds like a virus or a corrupted windows. What program did you scan with?

I used Norton for the scan.I know it has a bad rep but I've never had a problem with it.

You might try malwarebytes. Its a freeware scanner that usually picks up stuff avast misses when I clean my friends PC's. Its also my "backup weapon" on my PC.

Just get Microsoft Security Essentials. Was your windows 7 a legit copy? If it wasn't then we know the problem.

The only thing I can reccomend is defragmenting your drive. Otherwise backup important data and do a clean install (with a proper ISO which you can download straight from MS)

41 is seconds or minutes? If it is minutes, than you might have a problem with a virus, your hardware or Windows Update.

Yeah minutes.Ridiculous I know.Ran a few virus scans and nothing came up.Turns out that there was an update that I never remember being notified about. It was Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 3.Installed that and everything started working like normal again.
