Talking IOS 5 Discussion thread.
So, IOS 5 Is out today, I haven't downloaded it yet (IDK, I am afraid of losing all my apps and pictures and videos ) Has anyone tried it yet? ANYWHO, this thread is to discuss the ios 5. soooo....

I do. I have teh cloud! And it's awesome!

Seriously though.. I haven't really had enough time to give iOS 5 a spin yet but the features sound good and by the looks of it everything seems very polished and well thought through (as usual with everything Apple).

what did you update? (Ipod touch 4? Iphone 4) I want to update my Itouch but I don't know how to backup my apps, videos and pictures. I am afraid I will lose all my information

Quick question: Do you have to open Siri to use it or can you just randomly start talking to your iPhone and asking it to do stuff?

I have a developer beta release of iOS 5 on an iPod Touch. I've yet to update to the final release, but my experience with previous updates is that it's 100% safe and a completely transparent, fast and painless procedure - unless you've been tinkering with jailbreaks and crap like that.

You hold down the home button on the iPhone 4S to do it. It only works on the iPhone 4S.

I haven't been able to download it yet. I am doing that now. If Apple would have been smart and put it out right at midnight, I would have it already though. But they have to be stingy and not let us update it until 10 Pacific time. -_-


and it won't hurt your apps. You have to restore it before you update anyway I think. I have updated many time and I updated my iPod touch from 3.1.3 to 4.1 and had all my apps. I have had all my apps when updating my iPhone as well.
