Sorry if this thread was made already (I really am), but if I update my iPod Touch 4th gen to ios5, will it delete all my app data? For example I have Fantasy Star and shining force and sonic 4 and super monkey ball and Chu chu rocket and if I upgrade will I lose my games in all of those and have to start afresh?

When I updated none of my apps were deleted but I have heard it happen to some people. Just back up you iPod before updating and you should be fine.

if you back it up on itunes. you should be fine.

How do you back it up? Sorry I'm not trying to be stupid, I just only ever used my iPod for music and old Sega games, and I'm trying to use it for more things now.

Oh I think I figured it out.

Kinda makes me mad how often you have to update iTunes.

Just sync with iTunes.

Only Apple could make a simple update this difficult.

You, my good man have impeccable taste by having "Shining Force" on your IPod Touch. "Shining Force" is the greatest game ever made, in my humble opinion.

Updating iTunes for the 3rd time...

After 4 complete installations of iTunes, it finally successfully installed 10.5.

Now its telling me it can't connect to the update server. This is just pissing me off now.
