Apparently out of a thousand people who completed the survey most voted for the iPhone as making the largest influence on gaming.

I don't know if that makes sense, yah sure you can play quick games(I've heard there's better longer games than Angry Birds), but most influential?
PS360 introduced HD graphics to gaming, Wii brought motion control, the Xbox 360 in a way simplified motion control.
So to me those are a little more important than playing games between being free and $10.

I've got nothing against apple, yet when Nintendo makes a 4DS(or whatever you wanna call it), people spazz out, yet there's also how many iPod nanos/shuffles/phones/pad and of course touch out there.

But what are your thoughts? Me well I'm a little annoyed lol.

The people who sent in the surveys were independent iOS developers, obviously.

No other kind of developer has the time to fill in a survey this stupid, for a conference nobody goes to or pays attention to.

JK. I don't give a crap about this survey.

I don't know...were the people voting for who the biggest influence in the industry was 25 years ago or right now? I don't think Nintendo revolutionizing console gaming and arcades are quite the periods that the people voting were thinking about.

Look, you guys can "pish posh" it all you want, but the fact is, mobile gaming on phones is huge right now. Before Apple got into the fray, it wasn't even seen as viable. Yet here we are, a few years later, and the face of gaming is changing in a serious way. It may not be the way WE want to see it changing, but the fact of the matter is, it IS. Now whether it's a sustainable model for developers or not, or whether the industry can support two dedicated gaming handhelds and the iPhone and Android "platforms" remains to be seen. But it's time to realize that simply turning a blind eye to it isn't going to make it go away.

I think it is just stupid. Apple don't even have a proper console. One of the 3 big ones should have won, Nintendo for the first proper 3D console and the original motion control with the Wii, the Xbox for Kinect without a controller and Sony for the HD graphics introduction.

Not apple. While apple are great they are not the best with gaming.

The report also proclaims Steve Jobs to be the most influential figure in gaming! But he's dead... go figure!

Huh? Sony weren't the first to market with an HD system, nor were Nintendo the first to market with "the first proper 3D console".

The only part you got right is that the Kinect is on XBox. XD
