Default Japan and Western games

No big surprise, Japan dislikes Western games to an extreme, their top 100 games last time I checked had like 5 Western games (at the bottom). I wonder why, sure, I hear Japan hates violence but are all good Western games Violent? I mean, Resident evil is one of their top selling games after all. Anyway, I hear this all over, even American gamers dislike Western games and praise Japan to the highest of highest and crap on anything Western made.

Well, this thread is for you guys to do several things.

1. Why do you think Japan dislikes Western games?
2. Why do you(if you do) dislike Western games and prefer Japanese.
3. If you have any factual data on the best selling Western games in Japan, share it or anything that can help the thread.
4. List your top 5 Japanese fav games(series allowed) and Western ones.

I am just curious, help expand me and others knowledge.

Some Japanese and Western games (just examples)
Super Smash Bros Brawl
Street Fighter
Tales series
Final Fantasy
Mario
Zelda
Portal
Heavy Rain
Resident evil
Halo
Assassins Creed
Beyond good and evil
GTA
RDR
Bioshock
Alan Wake

Why?

Because Japan is a terribly xenophobic country.
This isn't new.

This isn't even a joke people. Speaking generally, they're a horribly racist people. Throw in their hyper-patriotism and we're lucky they buy any foreign products.

Well those are big businesses. Generally it's good for a big business to be friendly with us because we just gobble up their products. So Sony and Ni tend like us because we buy their stuff.

....Their hundreds of years of isolation?
That little part kind of left some roots in their culture that still affect modern society.

Well, isolation, Japanese pride, supporting their culture and wanting to stay together doesn't mean they hate/racism towards other people that are not in the club. This is shocking news for me, wow, I will research this!

@ Nightwing

Would an independent researcher calling Japan's racism problem "deep and profound" suffice?
