Kojima Tells Nomura to Remake Final Fantasy VII

Nothing has been confirmed yet, but really...

Is this what the industry is now? Rehashing the old games in favor of making new ones?

And about FFVII, I think it's an extremely overrated game and has been completely milked to death. Any charm it once had has now dried up.

Tons of people want a remake already from day 1 of the tech demo.

It was clear to me atleast that they would hold it back until they needed to have some cash flow increasement. As the game was seen as its holy grail for the entire series somehow it would be dump to just remake it to remake it.

Now that the company sit between dark waters, they will have to create cash. ff7 would make perfectly sense tho as remake.

I do agree i totally dislike the remakes etc. I rather have original new games and ip's but those are hard to get ( aaa ip's ).

The rehashing of older products is making it worthless in my opinion.

But lets hope things change.

I would love to have been at that dinner, but I'm thinking all those things he "passed along" probably went like this:

Kojima: "People just won't get off my back about Metal Gear Solid, I swear that's all they talk about, when will they get it through their heads that I don't want to make anymore."
Nomura: "I know what you mean, all everyone wants these days is a Final Fantasy 7 remake, we keep telling them it's never gonna happen but it's all they want."
Kojima: "Know what you should do, you should remake the game, with emphasis on Clouds cross dressing part, make Yuffie the main character, and force them to play tons of Cait Sith minigames! That'll show 'em"
Kojima + Nomura: "Hahahahaha"
Kojima: "But in all seriousness, you would make tons of money. We already have plans for Metal Gear Solid 6-10 and at least 5 moar Big Boss games."
Wada: "Money?!? YOSH!"

Seriously though, where have you been? You're on a 3DS site where there are at least 5 "what game do you want remade?" or "which mario/zelda/insertNintendofranchisehere game do you want remade?" threads. It's not the industry's fault for doing what the consumers want.
