So I just had knee surgery and was wondering if the screws would cuase the metal detectors or other scanners to go off and cuase the tsa to grope me. I don't want a fat@$$ tsa perve up in my face every time I fly. There are 2 titanium screws in my kneecap. Also the airport I fly outta of uses those new scanners so then I might not need enchanced screening. So please tell me that you don't have probablems at security.

uhh i think they use non-metallic metal and other screws. Dont quote me on that cause im not sure. Go to the doctor where you got the implant and ask him what material he used and if its metallic or not...

Mm I believe you won't have any problems. Perhaps, just in case, you could bring a document that proves you have these screws so they won't have to search you? @_@

They would search you anyways. They might just get the wand out.

When I fly out of the US I get wand-scanned. When I fly into it, I get groped (by the foreigners). Go figure.

It might set it off, but if you tell them beforehand it shouldn't be a problem.

I have a 2 inch screw in my heel from a surgery I had and I have never had a problem.
