Hey guys! With the new year comes a new poll about the amazing members of this great forum!
Every member here is invaluable, even when we disagree, everybody helps make this forum great.
However, some members this year have gone above and beyond what it means to be a member here.
Members that have answered questions for newcomers, aided the site in advertisement, and created great discussions.
They've done their best to do whatever they could to aid the site and its members.
Because of this, I'm making a contest of sorts to discover who you guys believe to be the Member of the Year.
If you have any criticism, advice, or would like to comment on something you'd like to see added or changed, feel free to post.

Voting will begin on Sunday, the 15th of January, or when the limit of 32 members has been reached.
The voting will be done in a bracket and seed tournament style instead of the normal poll style.
I feel that this should reduce the amount of a popularity contest this could become otherwise.
Here are the basic guidelines that the event voting will follow when it's available:
- Only the top 32 members nominated will be entered into the brackets.
- Members can be nominated more than once, by separate members.
-- Members who have been nominated more will have a higher seed count.
- Seeds will be placed in March Madness styled fashion within the brackets.
- Voting will be done for four members at a time, with the top two moving forward.

Here are the rules of recommending members for the member of the year contest:
- When you recommend a member, you must give a coherent reason as to why.
-- Make sure the reason is at least two sentences and explains why they deserve the award.
- Do not reference or beg for your recommendation, as doing so will result in immediate disqualification.
- Please keep recommendations to a limit of two as other members will want to give nominees as well.

Here are the qualifications for being recommended as member of the year contest:
1. Members must be a registered member prior to July 31st, 2011.
- This is a little over halfway into the year; if they weren't a member by then, they're not really a Member of the Year.
2. They must not have been banned more than once since their joining.
- We want somebody new members can look up to and want to post and act like.
3. Nominees must have over 300 posts and must have posted within the last three months.
- This is to ensure that the member is both active and willing to add to conversation.

Recommended Members:


There will be top three members who will all receive prizes, but the top will be known as the member of the year.
After all the recommendations have been collected, a poll will be created off-site for members to vote on.
Remember, just because you don't win doesn't mean you're useless- every member here is invaluable.
The members of this forum are among the greatest I've ever known from any forum, so there's that.
Be mature with this as well, if you don't win, it's alright, just don't go and ruin it for everybody else.
