Default Metroid Anime?

I've really been wanting for Nintendo icons to return to television.

After reading http://blog.io9.com's special article as to why we need more Space Operas I'm all in. I've always admired the Metroid franchise although I gravely dislike that Samus Aran isn't in her Zero Suit all the time.

I think that we truly need a Metroid anime. Is anyone with me?

If theres anything I've learned, it's that Japan is terrible at writing space operas.
I'd rather see that canned Metroid movie.

As a Metroid fan I would love to see a Metroid anime, they could maybe then have a similarly styled series of games.

meh, i don't know. samus is always alone, shooting stuff. they'd have to make up a lot of background material to make it into a story thats worth watching and would probably fail horribly, coming up with something that would, at best, be a mediocre sci-fi anime and would probably piss of metroid fans cause they'd screw up this or that little thing or didn't get her character right.

Live action might be good too (preferably Japanese), although the bad history of video game movies makes me think otherwise. Come to think of it, if the animation can be top-notch, I'd totally prefer an anime film. Anime or not, it can't be anything but a psychological thriller/horror, and it can't be like the monologues from Other M.

Anything else would probably result in an embarrassment to Metroid.

since halo did it i dont see why metroid cant, it would probably be of the mangas (probably spelt it wrong) that were never proved cannon and maybe some stuff about her in the academy and all that stuff

If I've learned anything, animes ruin series.

I'm guessing you just want the fan service part of it, yes? Considering your comment on the Zero Suit, I'll just assume that.

Anyway, there is a Metroid manga out there that does very well in explaining the space bounty hunter's roots. It's canon too, so it's even more to your benefit to read it if you're a fan of the series. And it's also interesting to see how Samus feels about herself in the manga, since she's mostly an impersonal character in the video games.

An anime adaptation, however, sounds pretty risky. Especially after I went through Other M, I'm not so confident about the writing. When it comes to a series like this, I'm expecting high quality animation, lots of action sequences, and whatever else made the game series so great.
