Default Musical Theatre Discussion

I can't be the only one on these forums that enjoys a good musical.

Recently, my school performed Little Shop of Horrors. I played the role of Mr. Mushnik; a flower shop owner.

For those who don't know, Little Shop of Horrors is a musical about a meek little guy, Seymour Krelborn, who stumbles upon a plant that no one has seen the likes of before.

It was a very enjoyable experience! Playing the role of Mr. Mushnik was very fun, as I had to age myself with the power of make-up by about 40 years. For those who have seen the movie version, that Mushnik is Jewish. The Musnik I played as was a foreigner of many accents. Started out as Russian, with some "Super Mario" Italian to the mix.

Has anyone else performed in a musical before?
Have any favourite musicals, on stage or the big screen?
Have any questions about being in a musical?

I love Little Shop of Horrors.

I haven't gotten a chance to see many shows live. I have seen Les Miserables (one of my all time favorite shows of all time) and Legally Blonde The Musical.

This is a topic I can get behind.

Musicals is probably one of the best dates you can go on. I've seen my fair share, I'd think.

Don't really love many of them though. Phantom of the Opera and Pirates of Penzance were pretty cool, I guess.

I love Wicked! Probably my favorite musical ever but everytime i tell people that they think i'm an idiot.. because the drama kids in my college don't like that musical for some reason..

Not a huge fan of Grease. Maybe the first act but after that it gets kind of repetitive.

Still need to see: The Lion King, The Phantom of the Opera, Rent and American Idiot.

I love musicals! I've only been in one, but I'm heavily considering doing one more before the end of the next school year.

We'll see how that goes.

I saw Wicked I really enjoyed it, it's one of my favorite musicals too.

I really want to see the new musical The Book of Mormon but the tickets are quite expensive.

I enjoy my fair share of musicals. I used to be into theater stuff for a little while, but I haven't had time to participate much in that as I've delved deeper into computer science studies.

Anyways, I'm going to be seeing Book of Mormon in... a bit over a week, and I'm really looking forward to that. Should be awesome.
