I clicked this thread thinking it would be about nerds parkouring.

Sadly, I was mistaken.

I'm a self-proclaimed nerd, I've never heard of this.

I think a better description of nerdcore would be heavy music, similar to metal, with the song content originating from video games, rather then just saying a genre all nerds know.

The stereotype of "nerds" is pretty much on the way out now, with so many people fully embracing new technology. "Self proclaimed nerds" really annoy me, people should be working to stop stereotypes. If I sounded a bit defensive I should tell you that I have friends, I play sport and I have a life - so I don't fit the stereotype of a "nerd" myself XD

But self proclaimed nerds are awesome we are nerds who arean't afraid of being called nerd. I read comics magna, Get my gadet fix. I still buy toys even though I am in my late teens. The nerdist podcast and geekdad all promote being open and proud of being a nerd. I am a nerd. It feels good to be okay with being a nerd. Being a nerd is not just about tech but also alot of other stuff. So be proud to be a nerd. Nerds can be atheletic. Most nerds are proud to be nerdy. So don't expect the term to die. Also it's not really a stereotype if the people being stereo typed embrace the term. Nerds FTW
