Best news or greatest news? T2 is one of my favorite movies of all time and the second and third were so disappointing.

Terminator is long since dead. I enjoy the Lethal Weapon movies, but I'd never want to see another one. It's the same with this franchise.

Actually, I take that back. If it's something similar to what Stallone did with the thoughtful swan songs to his actions heroes, it could be pretty cool. Anything other than that will suck though.

Stallone should be the next terminator. Like the Robert Patrick to Arnold.

I'm keeping an open mind. Arnie's gonna star in it, so.... That's something, I guess. Honestly, it could go either way. The third movie was so terrible, I like to pretend it never existed. Salvation was okay, at least it tried to do something unique, but ultimately it kind of fell on its face. The first and second films were and still are fantastic. I'm not sure where the Terminator mythos should be taken to next, but one thing's for sure... The screenwriting will make or break this film. It needs the tension of the first film, or the charm and character development of the second. The films since then were bad because the stories being told were flat and dull and the characters were bland. Hopefully they won't make that mistake with this one, otherwise it's just gonna be an expensive action film with awesome visual fx.

Edit: just re-read what I wrote and realised I was being overly harsh towards Salvation. I actually liked Salvation a fair amount. It's just that it didn't really feel like a Terminator film to me.
