Is it worth upgrading from the PSP to the NGP? Well we have wrote up a comparision on the Hardware side, Software is coming later. Enjoy!

Performance:

NGP: 2 GHz ARM Cortex A9 CPU, SGX543MP4+ GPU
PSP: 1x 333MHz MIPS32 CPU, 2MB GPU

The obvious winner in this department is the NGP with it’s quad core proccessor and GPU. You know, it’s almost as strong as a PS3. NGP WINS!

Size and Dimensions:

PSP: 128 x 16.5 x 69mm

NGP: 182.0 x 18.6 x 83.5mm

The PSP is a little smaller so the PSP takes the edge on this round! They look pretty much the same.

Display and Screen

NGP: 5 inch OLED, 960x544px

PSP: 4.3 inch TFT-LCD, 480x272px

The NGP features a juicy 5 inch OLED almost HD screen, so the obvious winner is the NGP.

WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS
NGP: 3G, b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1

PSP: Wi-Fi (802.11b), Bluetooth (PSP-GO), Infra Red

The NGP has 3G, ultra fast Wi-fi and Bluetooth that can be used for sending data, the big winner is the NGP. One of Sony’s goals with this machine was social connectivity.

NGP:


NGP is the most button crammed handheld ever made with all the famous buttons like Square, X, Triangle and Circle, D-Pad, L and R shoulder buttons, dual analog sticks (real sticks like a Dualshock 3, motion control, front and back touch panels.

PSP:


The PSP on the other hand features One analog nub, Square, X, Triangle and Circle, L and R and the famous D-Pad.

NGP WINS

Camera

The Sony NGP features a front and back facing camera, we dont know the resolution yet but I guess at 5 megapixels.

PSP does not have any cameras.

PSP: 1/6
As you can see in the final score the NGP is far superior to the old Playstation Portable, is it worth upgrading?
If you have the money for a new handheld and want to upgrade your old PSP, the NGP is probably the way to go.
All this new tech does not come for free. The NGP is big and probably expensive, so the final decision is up to you!

atleast try to throw in some more info if you wanna compare like tmu's / spe's / alu's / sops / fillrate factors / cores / clocks / v-ram / throughputs / bw /

With that statement pentium 4 beats the living crap out of mine i7 system.

quad core isn't going to run on 2ghz, only 3 cores will be available towards gaming. those 3 cores resemble on 1,5-2ghz 1x xbox360 cpu. so no way in hell the cpu = as power full as a ps3.

ah well, nvm. garbage site is garbage lol

NGP will not work on it's full power, cuz I'm expect or 500 bucks price or battery life will be about 10 minutes.

Where do you get your info??
First of all battery life is going to be better or equal than the PSP and it's widely speculated it going to cost between $250-$350(depending on model)
But the comparison is useless, it's like comparing a sports car to a bike.
