Im about to import megaman legends psp value pack from play asia but before I do I want to know is it going to be hard to read the menus and equip weapons. Thanks.

Depends on the game. I can play japanese Pocket Monsters Green & Blue Versions just fine, but that's because I know the english versions really well. If it ends up to be too hard for you, you could just sell it on eBay.

Aren't PSP's region locked anyway?

How hard is it going to be to read the menus? If you don't know any japanese at all, it'll be pretty hard to read. But if you google around you might be able to find simple things like "Yes" or "No".

I don't think PSPs are region locked (if they are, it must be really easy to remove the region locking), because I remember everybody and their mothers imported Dissidia when it came out in Japan.

seriously, it's going to vary from game to game and depend entirely upon your current ability to read japanese. Action games with little menus/text are going to be much easier than an RPG which is very text heavy. do some research on the game you want to get before you buy it, google screen shots, check it out on youtube. see if it's what you want before you just plunge right in.

It's an action rpg that I really wanna play but the only other way is to do illegal stuff but i'm not going that route.

Just do the illegal stuff. Importing Japanese games is very expensive, and is not normally worth the hassle

People at this forum are too butthurt at illegal things such as "homebrew", emulation, and pirating.

If homebrew and illegal games are suddenly being traded or supplied here, Nintendo or anyone else with an inteset can have Lawyers deliver C&D orders to the IPs to shut down the forums.
