To be honest, I'm fine with just four moves. What they could do is have a move list for each Pokemon and outside of battle you can choose and swap from the moves they've learned to make up the four moves that you want to use in a battle. I mean, if they're gonna have the guy that let's you bring back old moves, that means they have to document the moves they can and will know, so it shouldn't be extra work to implement. Then you dont have to go back to that guy to bring back old moves, and it could make gameplay more intuitive. You could make gym battles more challenging if you had a different move set.

Four is fine, I wouldn't like it if you had a lot of moves, because then the game wouldn't be very strategic.

I'd support this.
Reminds me vaguely of Chrono Cross, but a lot less stupid.

Actually, that'd probably make it more strategic, because then you'd have more moves to choose from and be able to use certain movesets to defeat certain pokemon/trainers/friends.

I just want a move that does nothing.

I agree with Shmuga9, a list of your Pokemon's learned moves would be really nice, and then you could choose which ones you will use in battle.
